DSR stands for  "Dutch Synthetic Reefing".

Why Dutch?
- It is dutch, because i am dutch and it was developed by myself and for myself.
- it is a method than fits  the "dutch way". Think about going dutch, dutch treat, Dutch date. It's meant to be cheap.

Why synthetic?
I my search to get full control over water parameter i disected saltwater and put together my own composition of a reef salt. This was a simplified formula to be composed at home myself. I left out everything i think has no value to be added manually in a reefsalt.
This was the base of the method. A synthetic reef salt containing only the essential elements to be used seperately.

What's different than other methods?
I don't do any periodic water changes.
I only do corrections of parameter needed to be  corrected.
Because i have most elements seperately controlled, water changes can be ommited.

Does it  really work?
What do you think?
My tank has been running since december 2014 with no structural waterchanges.
You may say the mayority of the moleculs in my tank are now more than 11years old.

Why Reefing?
My method  was specific developed for the purpose to have a mixed population of corals. You may say for a mixed reef.
