DSR EZ-Carbon
- Instant nutrients control solution suitable for auto dosing units
- Transparant bottle to keep track of liquid level
- Removes NO3
- Removes PO4
- Instant food for healthy bacteria population

Daily start dosing: 1ml / 100 liter (use dosing table on package)

When do i use EZCarbon or CarbonVS?

CarbonVS grows bacteria and removes mainly NO3 and a small portion PO4
You need PO4 to grow bacteria, so when PO4 is 0,00 you need to level op PO4.

EZCarbon is multifunctional and removes NO3+PO4 but also serves as FeTrace element.

When NO3 is very high, (25ppm up) and rising due to low (0,00) PO4, (unbalanced) it is better to use CarbonVS combined with minimal FeTrace dosings

When Both NO3/PO4 are elevated EZCarbon will do just fine
Because every tank has it's own dynamic the there will always be a need to adjust initial dosings.
Whenever there is a unbalance just dose the PO4+ or NO3+ to correct this.

e.a. is hierboven al uitgelegd.

NO3 = 1-5
PO4 = 0,04-0,1 ( vermijd nul waarde)

http://www.DSRreefing.com/vragen

Gebruik altijd geijkte PO4/NO3 testen !!!

Pay attention !

- Statistically speaking, the majority of the systems that start with EZCarbon will be too high on both NO3/PO4 nutrients. These will then also be brought down in balance. You do this by ramping up/down the EZCarbon dosage according to dosing schedule.

- Sometimes there is an imbalance and 1 of the components (NO3 or PO4) will run out earlier.
From that moment on, the other surplus will not drop any more, no matter how high you raise the EZCarbon dosage.
Therefore, always try to keep the values within these ranges  with "problem systems".
NO3 = 1-5
PO4 = 0.04-0.1 (avoid zero value)

- In a small percentage of the systems an imbalance may (gradually) occurs. These are exceptions and must also be treated as such.
For this we create a topic with all related data and discuss this ....
http://www.DSRreefing.com/vragen

- There are just as many cases within these exceptions where there is a PO4 surplus, if a NO3 surplus occurs. Both ask for a separate / different approach.

- if there is a NO3 surplus, it means that there is insufficient PO4 available to further reduce NO3. The ever increasing of EZCarbon in this case will proof counterproductive, because you will be left with a surplus of iron and carbon.
Therefore, PO4 must first be ramped up. (Note the target values mentioned above!)

- In case NO3 stay high, PO4 remains unmeasureable (even after daily dosing), your EZCarbon dose is above D10 and you have not seen progress in PO4 for more than 3 weeks (keep it measurable), it is advisable to temporarily replace EZCarbon for half a day dosage of CarbonVS together with PO4 + dosages. You may also apply a minimum dose FeTrace.

- if the nitrate is under control and PO4 has been stable and in balance for a while, an attempt can be made with EZCarbon later on.

EZ products are developed to make aquarium keeping easy with low-threshold. Here see one of the few limitations ......

Always use calibrated PO4 / NO3 tests !!!

Hi Glenn,

I`ve got a question in case of EZ Carbon.
At the moment I move from Balling to EZ DSR and I started with EZ Carbon and EZ Trace. Trace runs good, all corals look great. Dosingvolume is 4ml for my Reefer 425XL (approx. 400l net.)
NO3 is realy high (50-80 ml/l) and PO4 also (0,3 - 0,4 mg/l). I started with 4ml/day and raised up to 8ml. What do you think whan a reduction will occur?
Should I raise the Dosingvolume again?

Thanks Frank

Beste Glenn,

Met Red Sea Pro: NO3 >4
Met Salifert: NO3 10
Met Red Sea Pro: PO4 0,08

Dosering EZCarbon = D12.

Mvg Jochem Verbaan

Use table on bottle to ramp up dosing (maximum up to d15)

Or use the EZcalculator
http://www.DSRreefing.com/ez-dsr
Maximum dosing (d15) =49,5ml /400liters
